Raising awareness: violence against women

Pictures That Move is working with Mentor Discover Inspire (MDI) to create a video to raise awareness of the issue of violence against women.

Geoff Tomlinson, Marketing Director for MDI, interviewed the executive director of a certain women’s shelter, which is not being named right now due to confidentiality.

Geoff was pleased with the results of the interview and commented,

The shoot went amazing today, I think we got lots of great stuff… I’m really excited with the results, the executive director was well spoken and hit some key points that will cause an emotional reaction with the men. Awesome.

Have you ever made a decision that maybe was not such a good decision? I felt like that yesterday when I had a dental appointment to have a filling put in. As my dentist applied the anesthetic I thought that maybe having my mouth frozen on the same day that I was giving a speech at Toastmasters was perhaps not such a smart idea.

Fortunately the effect of the freezing wore off within a few hours. I gave my speech in the evening, I incorporated a few elements from my dental adventure into my speech, and I won a blue ribbon for Best Speaker for the evening. A decision that started out as not so smart ended up working well in the end.

Who do you know that has a story that needs telling through video?

Whether it’s a story about someone who is trying to make the world a better place, a story about your summer trip, or someone’s life story; whatever the circumstances please put them in touch with Pictures That Move so that we can help them tell their story through video. Rest assured that it will be a decision that works well in the end.

Kathy Van Zeyl, Naturopathic Doctor, recommends Pictures That Move

Pictures That Move recently produced a video profile to help Kathy Van Zeyl, Naturopathic Doctor, educate viewers on how she helps patients achieve their health goals.

Kathy wrote this testimonial about her experience working with Pictures That Move. See more client testimonials on our Testimonials page.

To whom it may concern:

Orest Nahacziwec is a video editor, videographer, inspired story-teller and the creative genius behind Pictures That Move. You name it, if it has to do with video or audio content, he does it and he does it well. His claims to fame include creating and editing multimedia content to tell a story and to inspire its intended audience.

My first experience working directly with Orest was to create a video infomercial for my business as a Naturopathic Doctor. Despite feeling nervous and self-conscious in front of a video camera, Orest set the infomercial up as an interview which made it a much more natural process. Having difficulty finding the right words to describe my work, I was highly grateful for his patience, guidance, and above-all masterful editing skills to be able to accurately portray my role as a Naturopathic Doctor and connect with potential viewers.

The finished product was a concise, informative, and moving 3-minute video infomercial that flowed very naturally and artfully depicted my style of practice, my passion and my approach to naturopathic medicine. As my practice is about educating and empowering my patients, this was a great way to communicate just that. Orest is artistic, diligent and attentive to detail and I would be happy to recommend him to anyone looking to promote themselves through multimedia.

Thank you Orest for all of your hard work, it shows!
